This house is the subject of a restoration and expansion project in a heritage protection overlay zone. This formed an interesting brief that would seamlessly weave the old architectural vernacular present in the surrounding context and a modern language that catered to the tastes of a young contemporary couple.

The front façade was restored to its original state allowing the front door to act as a portal into the future. The labyrinth of internal walls previously present were removed to create a completely open plan space that allows views to the immaculate cityscape from the moment one enters the house.

The house was also designed to step back and align with neighbouring houses on all levels thereby creating terraces that allow for outdoor living on all floors.
